Stuart Patterson, MD

Dr. Patterson obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Cape Town Medical School in 1981.

In 1982 he completed a one year rotating internship at the University of Natal, South Africa.

Following his internship, he worked overseas, including 6 months in the Emergency Room at St. Bartholomews Hospital, London, 3 months as a General Surgical Intern in Reading, England and 5 months as a family physician in Newfoundland, Canada.

In July 1984, he returned to the University of Natal as a resident in the Surgical Trauma Unit.

In July 1985, he entered the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Programme, McMaster University, Ontario, Canada. He obtained his Certification in Orthopaedic Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in 1989 and became an Upper Extremity Fellow with Dr. Robin Richards at St. Michaels Hospital, University of Toronto in July 1989.

Following this year of training, he completed a one year Hand and Microsurgery Fellowship at the University of South Florida and the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, Tampa.

He spent September 1991 with Dr. Bernard Morrey at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, for additional training in elbow reconstructive surgery.

In October 1991 he accepted a full time academic appointment at the University of Western Ontario, London, Canada, as an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery in the Hand and Upper Limb Centre.

In January 1999, he accepted a Hand Surgery position in Winter Haven.

He established his independent practice, Central Florida Orthopaedic Surgery Associates, in January 2004.

Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (1998). Recertified 2008.

Certified by The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (1989).

Dr. Patterson has over 150 presentations at local, regional, national and international meetings. He has authored or co-authored thirty-five peer reviewed journal articles. He is a co-developer of elbow (EVOLVE™), shoulder (OLYMPIA™) and wrist (E-CENTRIX™) joint replacements for Wright Medical Technology Inc.

Dr. Timothy J. Evans, M.D., FAAOS attended the University of Central Florida where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then ventured up to our nation’s capital where he earned a Master of Science degree in Physiology from Georgetown University, graduating at the top of his class.

He went on to attend medical school at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. While at Creighton he participated in multiple extra-curricular activities including a medical mission to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, peer tutoring, and co-directing the Midwest Student Biomedical Research Forum. He also participated in research focused on complex knee reconstruction at Creighton as well as the summer research program at the famed American Sports Medicine Institute. He was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society for his scholastic achievements throughout medical school.

Dr. Timothy J. Evans, M.D., FAAOS completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. At this busy, level 1 trauma hospital, he gained valuable experience in the techniques used for shoulder, hip and knee joint reconstruction, orthopaedic trauma and orthopaedic oncology. He developed an interest in orthopaedic oncology and presented award winning research at the regional and national level. He served as administrative chief resident during his final year in the program.

His interests in orthopaedic oncology, complex joint reconstruction and trauma led him to pursue further training in orthopaedic oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL. While at Moffitt, he trained with some of the nation’s leaders in the field, especially with respect to computer navigation, complex hip and knee reconstruction and innovative ways of treating metastatic disease of the bones.

Kelly was born and raised in Winter Haven, Florida. She attended All Saints Academy and completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2012. After graduating, she worked at Children’s Hospital of Alabama in the Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit as a Registered Nurse, before moving back home to Winter Haven in 2013.

Sierra Reighard, PA-C

Sierra was born and raised in Altoona, Pennsylvania. She moved to the Tampa area in 2014 to attend the University of South Florida for her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Public Health.

After graduating, she worked as a Home Health Aide and a Patient Care Technician for two years. She completed her Physician Assistant training at Barry University and graduated with her Master of Clinical Medical Sciences in May 2023. While in PA school, she served as the Students Affairs Committee Chair for the Florida Academy of PAs (FAPA) representing PA students in Florida. Additionally, she helped to coordinate and participate in volunteer efforts to help individuals affected by Hurricane Ian. Sierra conducted a literature review of the individual patient approach for knee osteoarthritis treatment. For this outstanding research, she was awarded the Vernon A. & Virginia M. Culver Memorial Scholarship, which is given to a student who has demonstrated excellence in research.

Sierra is currently attending Butler University to obtain her Doctor of Medical Sciences and hopes to use this degree to continue conducting research. She is also continuing her work with FAPA as the Education Committee Chair and is excited to continue to represent PA’s in Florida.

Sierra is a board-certified PA through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and the Florida Board of Medicine.
